This site collects as little as a website can. No cookies and no tracking.
What we do not do
- This site sets no cookies.
- No scripts run for statistics, advertising or social media.
- Fonts, images and scripts all come from this domain, not from other companies.
- There are no accounts and no contact forms. The only form is the voluntary newsletter sign-up (see below); the one-tap questions on the scent pages are explained below as well.
What does happen
The site is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). To show a page, Cloudflare's servers process the technical data that every browser sends: your IP address, the page requested, the time and the type of browser. Cloudflare does this as our hosting provider and may keep logs for a short time for security and reliability. We do not use that data to recognize visitors and we do not build profiles.
If you send us an email, we use your address and message to reply to you.
Newsletter
If you sign up for Al Ambra news, we store your email address, the time of sign-up and the fact that the sign-up came through this site. We do this only with your consent, which you give by ticking the box. Your address is kept in a separate list at Sender.net, the service FragranceGems uses to send email; Sender processes it on our behalf. The form sends your address to our own server and from there to Sender; no script from another company is loaded into the page.
You can unsubscribe at any time: through the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing info@fragrance-gems.nl. We then remove your address from the list.
Visitors' impressions on the scent pages
Every scent page asks four questions that you can answer with one tap: how long the scent lasts on you, how far it carries, which season suits it and where you would wear it. There is no account and no cookie.
- What is stored on our side: per scent and per question only a number for each answer. Nothing about who answered.
- What is stored in your browser: which answer you gave, in the browser's local storage, so that the page can show it and each question is answered once. It never leaves your browser, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- Against repeated answers: when you answer, our server turns your IP address and a random value into a one-way code and keeps that code, with the questions it answered, for at most 24 hours. Our own code does not store or log the address itself. The random value is replaced every 24 hours, after which nobody can link a code to an address, and the codes expire by themselves.
- Where: on Cloudflare, the hosting provider of this site, in a store that belongs to this site alone. No other company receives anything, and no script from another company is loaded.
The tallies are the impressions of visitors. They are not measurements by this guide and not statements of the brand, and this guide never adds answers of its own.

The buttons on this site lead to the FragranceGems shop on fragrance-gems.eu and its other language versions. The shop has its own privacy and cookie policy, which applies as soon as you are there.
