What lavender is
Lavender is an aromatic herb that smells clean, floral and slightly camphor-like. The oil is distilled from the flowering tops of the plant. Together with oakmoss and tonka bean it forms the fougère, the classic structure of aromatic scents for men, and on its own it gives a composition a clean, barbershop kind of freshness.
Its usual partners have pages too: oakmoss, tonka bean and geranium.
