Fresh scents open with citrus, herbs or marine notes and keep sweetness in the background. In a note list you recognise them by the top layer: bergamot, lemon, grapefruit, mint, lavender or sea notes. What differs is the ground they stand on. Some end on clean musk, ambroxan or ambergris, others on vetiver, patchouli or oakmoss, which makes them drier and earthier.
