What musk is

Musk today is a family of synthetic molecules that smell soft, clean and skin-like; it usually sits in the base of a perfume. A white musk is the cleanest kind, close to fresh laundry. Musk is also what makes other notes linger, so it appears in bases across every family of the range.

Two other skin-like base notes of the range are ambroxan and ambergris; sandalwood is a wood it is often given for company.
