What does Al Ambra Sekushi smell like?
The two named flowers of Sekushi are in the heart. Carnation is a spicy flower whose smell recalls clove; lily of the valley is fresh, green and bell-clear, and always rebuilt by the perfumer because the flower yields no oil.
Around them the list is less specific. The top is soft florals and light spices, without names. The base is the familiar warm trio of vanilla, musk and amber. Carnation is not a fashionable note, and no other scent in the Al Ambra range lists it, so it is the detail that sets Sekushi apart from the brand's other floral ambers.
What Al Ambra says about Sekushi
Warm and floral, slightly spicy and softly sweet: those are the brand's words. Al Ambra suggests Sekushi for spring and autumn and for evenings, special occasions and dinners. It calls the projection moderate.
Who is Al Ambra Sekushi for?
Women is the audience named in the product title of Sekushi. The note that decides whether it is for you is carnation, a flower with a clove-like bite: welcome if you enjoy a spiced floral, less so if you want your flowers fresh and dewy. Lily of the valley supplies that fresher side. Below them, vanilla, musk and amber make a soft, warm base that asks for no special taste at all. A label in a title is a starting point, not a rule.
Al Ambra Sekushi Extrait de Parfum, 50 ml: size and concentration
Sekushi is sold by the brand in a 50 ml bottle (1.7 fl oz) and in no other size. Its type is extrait de parfum, as with every 50 ml bottle Al Ambra makes. The oil richness is moderate to high in the brand's wording, and the blend is called French-inspired. The brand's bottle sizes are set out under sizes and samples.
Al Ambra Sekushi compared with its closest siblings
Only one of the three siblings is sold by FragranceGems: Black Forest Elixir. Like Sekushi it is a 50 ml extrait, though listed as unisex, and it has lily of the valley, vanilla and musk. The difference is scale. Elixir adds a dozen further notes, among them citrus, white peach, orange blossom, vetiver and patchouli. Sekushi is short by comparison, and what it has that Elixir lacks is carnation and amber.
Vanilla and amber are all that Sekushi has in common with Ambra Nuit, and the comparison is useful for that reason: it shows how far the same warm pair can travel. Ambra Nuit is a men's eau de parfum in 100 ml that combines it with oud, sandalwood, rosewood, cardamom, vetiver and tonka. Sekushi combines it with two flowers and musk. Wood and spice on one side, carnation and lily of the valley on the other.
A second men's eau de parfum in 100 ml, Spirit of Elegance, meets Sekushi at the same two notes and nowhere else. Its other notes are herbs, almond and leather: clary sage, lavender, bitter almond, orris, tonka bean and Cashmeran. There is one quiet parallel. Orris gives Spirit of Elegance a powdery floral touch, much as carnation gives Sekushi a spicy one, but the leather makes it a different kind of scent.
Where to buy Al Ambra Sekushi in Europe
Sekushi is not in the FragranceGems range at present, so the short answer is: not there. The shop, which works as an independent reseller, does take requests, and the button below opens the page for them. Filling it in buys nothing and does not oblige the shop to bring the scent in. In the shop's present range, Black Forest Elixir is the closest match on paper, with lily of the valley, vanilla and musk all on its list. Dubai Musk shares the musk and offers magnolia as its flower, with citrus where Sekushi has spice.
Request Sekushi at FragranceGemsA request is not an order, and it is no promise that the shop will add the scent.
