What does Al Ambra Tysir smell like?
Tysir follows a structure that has become one of the most familiar in men's perfumery: fruit on top, smoke in the middle, moss and musk underneath. The fruit is bergamot, pineapple, apple and black currant. The smoke comes from birch, whose tar-like wood note sits next to piney juniper berries, earthy patchouli and jasmine.
The base is musk, oakmoss, an ambergris accord and vanilla. Oakmoss is damp and forest-like, ambergris salty and skin-warm, and vanilla rounds the two off.
The brand gives the same twelve notes for Lenard; only the order within the top and the heart differs.
What Al Ambra says about Tysir
For Tysir the brand writes fresh, fruity, woody and slightly musky, the same four words as for Lenard. No season is named. Office wear, daily use and casual outings are the occasions, and moderate is the projection Al Ambra states.
Who is Al Ambra Tysir for?
Tysir is sold as a men's eau de parfum: that is what the product title says. The list has something for three tastes. Fruit lovers get bergamot, pineapple, apple and black currant. People who like a smoky, outdoors note get birch and juniper. And for anyone fond of the mossy, slightly salty finish of a chypre, oakmoss and ambergris provide it. What the list does not offer is density or sugar: vanilla is the one sweet note, and jasmine, the one flower, plays a small part on paper.
Al Ambra Tysir Eau de Parfum, 100 ml: size and concentration
Two products carry the name Tysir. The one on this page is the eau de parfum in 100 ml (3.4 fl oz), the only size the brand lists for it. The brand also sells a 10 ml concentrated perfume oil called Tysir, a separate product for which it gives no note list. For the eau de parfum, Al Ambra states a moderate to high oil richness and a French-inspired blend.
Al Ambra Tysir compared with its closest siblings
Eclipse and Tysir share a foundation: patchouli, jasmine, oakmoss and an ambergris accord are listed for both, and the brand lists both for men. The rest differs. Eclipse, an extrait in 100 ml, is marine and citrus, with sea notes, grapefruit, mandarin orange and bay leaf, and guaiac wood for smoke. Tysir is fruit and birch: pineapple, apple, black currant and bergamot, then birch and juniper, with musk and vanilla to finish.
Cleaner and shorter, Dawn is a unisex extrait in 50 ml. Bergamot, apple, an ambergris accord and vanilla appear in both. Dawn then keeps things mineral and smooth with coriander, ambroxan and tonka bean. Tysir has eight notes that Dawn lacks, and they are the ones that give it its character: pineapple and black currant for fruit, birch and juniper for smoke and pine, patchouli and oakmoss for earth, jasmine and musk.
FragranceGems sells Dubai Musk, which makes it the practical comparison. It is a unisex extrait in 50 ml and shares bergamot, black currant and musk with Tysir. After that the two go separate ways. Dubai Musk is a soft musk with mandarin, magnolia and white sandalwood. Tysir is the smokier, mossier list, with birch, juniper berries, patchouli, oakmoss and ambergris, and with pineapple and apple beside the black currant.
Where to buy Al Ambra Tysir in Europe
FragranceGems does not sell Tysir at present, though it does sell one of the three scents this page compares it with. The shop, an independent reseller, lets you ask for scents it does not sell: use the request button under this paragraph. Asking is not ordering, and the shop decides for itself whether to add a scent. Two of the scents it does sell overlap with Tysir by three or four notes. Black Forest Elixir shares bergamot, patchouli, musk and vanilla. Dubai Musk shares bergamot, black currant and musk, and is the softer option, with no birch, moss or patchouli.
Request Tysir at FragranceGemsA request is not an order, and it is no promise that the shop will add the scent.
