What jasmine is

Jasmine is a rich white flower: sweet, heady and slightly animalic. It is one of the two classic flowers of perfumery, next to rose, and usually sits in the heart. In small amounts it simply rounds off a composition; in larger amounts it defines it.

The other great flower of perfumery is rose; the white flowers nearest to it are on the page for orange blossom.
