What neroli is
Neroli is the oil distilled from bitter orange blossom; it smells greener and fresher than the flower itself, and Tunisia is one of the countries where it is produced. It bridges citrus and flowers, which is why it turns up in the top as often as in the heart of a pyramid. Perfumers lean on it for the clean, slightly soapy brightness of a classic cologne, and it sits just as easily next to pear and peach blossom as next to jasmine.
