Al Ambra perfumes in the leather family
Al Ambra describes 10 of its 49 perfumes as “leathery” or “animalic”: Aurum, Catch You Back, Irish Ferre, Loren, Oud Shamayel, Secret Adventure and 4 more. FragranceGems sells none of them at the moment.
Leather scents carry a dry, smoky leather or suede note, built by the perfumer rather than extracted. The range holds three kinds: plain, dry leathers with wood and vetiver; sweet leathers softened with almond, vanilla, candy or fruit; and Arabic leathers in which the note stands next to oud. Saffron, the spice with a leathery edge of its own, is in two of them.
